A Mammoth-Tastic Week

It’s been a mammoth week here! Sadly on Tuesday we waved goodbye to Fluffy, the wonderful woolly mammoth that has been residing in our Biffa Award Gallery since last year. He’s off to pastures new, taking pride of place at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum in their summer Ice Age exhibition.

But we love Fluffy so much that we couldn’t just let him leave without throwing him a mammoth farewell party!

Our visitors didn’t disappoint, and turned up in their droves to say goodbye to our favourite mammoth. We made giant cards, party hats and doodled on a mammoth mural. The more adventurous also took on Fluffy’s holiday trail, helping him to find all the things he’ll need for his summer trip.

On Tuesday the team from Worcester arrived and worked with our staff and volunteers to dismantle Fluffy so that he fit into a van for transport. We definitely got our share of strange looks from our visitors, carrying mammoth legs up the towpath!

You can see photos from the party and from Fluffy’s leaving day in the gallery below. Enjoy!
