There are lots of ways to get involved with our volunteer teams. Check out some of our opportunities below!

Early Years Activity Leader

Help facilitate our Toddler Boat Trips which run every Monday morning. Carers and their toddlers can come on a visit and enjoy storytelling and music as they embark on one of our boat trips into the caverns or out on the open water.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO:

  • Enjoys working with children of all ages
  • Is enthusiastic and passionate
  • Has lots of patience
  • Is happy to talk to an audience

 

Learning volunteers

Help share the hidden treasures of the canals and caverns with hundreds of local school children, helping them to understand their past.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO:

  • Enjoys working with children of all ages
  • Is friendly and happy to answer questions – you never know what you will be asked
  • Is creative and willing to have a go at anything
  • Has lots of patience
  • Cannot commit to a regular day but needs flexibility

 

Visitor Welcome Volunteers

Visitor Welcome Volunteers play an important role in helping every visitor make the most of their day by giving them the information they need about where everything is and what is happening when. You will act as a point of contact to all visitors to Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO:

    • is reliable and well organised
    • enjoys talking to people
    • is great with people of all ages and happy to chat to anyone whether they are 21 or 101
    • is looking for a regular volunteering opportunity
    • Is happy to answer questions and can think on their feet
