Teen Twitter Takeover Day 2015
The following blog post was written for us by our Teen Twitterers!
On the 20th of August 2015, we were given the opportunity to visit Dudley Canal Trust and participate in a range of activities, whilst tweeting about our day as it progressed.
To begin our day we were given an introduction about Dudley Canal Trust before we suited up in high-vis jackets, hard hats and gloves. Then we went on a tour around the construction site of the new Portal with the site manager Mark who showed us all around the building and we even got to stand on the new swing bridge.
After the construction tour, we went to the café to have some lunch of delicious sausage baps and hot dogs. Once all of the food had been eaten, we once again put on hard hats ready to go on a 45-minute canal boat trip through the vast range of tunnels and caverns. Throughout the trip we saw many spectacular sights of things including caverns with videos playing on the walls, bats, stalagatites and two of us were even given the opportunity to have a go at legging.
From returning from our underground voyage on the canal boats, we collated all of the video clips we had taken throughout our fantastic day and created our very own video montage of clips which will be featured on YouTube to show the world our amazing day. The video can be found at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1p98HhT3_k&feature=youtu.be
During our day, we also had the opportunity to meet Sally. Sally’s Twitter is https://twitter.com/dcttkids
Thank you Dudley Canal Trust for having us for the day, we had a super time.
