A Day in the Life of a Volunteer: John Chapman
John Chapman volunteers with us in a variety of roles, but this week he is giving us a taster of a Day in the Life of Santa!
Christmas is a special time for all the family, and particularly families including grandparents who bring along their small ones and get a great thrill, not only of seeing the children’s faces, but also reliving their own time with their own parents these past twenty five or even thirty year during the Christmas period at Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust!
Father Christmas always has handfuls of presents to hand out to excited children and adults to chat with!
Santa can get to see group of Brownies, Cubs and Beavers, as well as the general public. Santa poses for lots of different photos and a professional photographer captures the whole family which they can take home a family memory not captured anywhere quite like that. Santa’s Elf plays a big part in chatting with the children who are patiently awaiting Santa.
The Skipper gently eases the boat out of Santa’s famous Grotto, to the tune of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer or a similar one that mums, dads, grandparents and children can sing along to!
