Discover local artist Phil Sedgley

Discover local artist Phil Sedgley in his exhibition at the Portal over the next month. Free to visit in our Waterside Gallery until 17th November, Phil’s paintings, ranging from beautiful rugged landscapes to quiet canal scenes, are majestic!

Art has been a hobby of Phil’s for nearly fifty years. Since his retirement last year he has been able to give more time to his art and, when asked by the DCTT if he should like to stage an exhibition, he jumped at the chance.

Of the 37 works on show here, 10 are from my previous exhibitions; the others have been completed this year.

See our photo gallery for a closer look at the artworks on display.

‘On the Wrena’ in oils and ‘Path on the ‘Wrena I’ in acrylic ink are inspired by walks in the Wren’s Nest Nature Reserve.

‘Muir Woods…looking up’ in acrylic paint captures the awe and beauty of an upward glance when strolling through the forest. Phil is always conscious that you can easily miss these magical moments and always makes sure to look up!

‘Blencathra, Lake District’ in oils is an impressive view of the classic English mountainous landscape. Phil’s painstaking detail brings the breathtaking landscape to life.

All artworks are for sale and vary in price from £25 to £100. Commissions can also be considered. To find out more visit Phil’s website:
